How do I purchase tickets?
Tickets can be booked directly through our website, ticket prices are clearly displayed along with film and location details. Whenever possible we aim to offer our customers an early bird discount on advance ticket purchases for our events. Keep an eye out for voucher codes via our Facebook – Essex Alfresco Cinema. Tickets can also be purchased from the Tourist Information Centre in Maldon.
If payment is completed via our website you will receive a payment confirmation reference, this is your unique ticket reference number which will be logged with your name on our guest register ready for you to communicate at the event front of house to gain entry.
Where are the cinema locations?
The Essex Alfresco Cinema is a community based cinema and as such we have chosen the best community locations. We have taken into consideration travel, parking, accessibility and ambience. With this in mind the Promenade Park in Maldon and Riverside Park in Burnham on Crouch both stand out as 2 fantastic locations. These special open spaces have good public transport links and are easy to travel to. Both venues have ample onsite parking and will provide us with a great setting for a fabulous film screening and event.
What do we do if it rains or the weather is not good?
Although we hold most of our events and screenings during the warmer and sunnier months as we know the British weather can be unpredictable and somewhat unsporting at times. But as positive people we will be onsite come rain or shine delivering a great film to our hardy audience. We would always advise that you bring warm and water proof clothing to all our events as the show does go on no matter what the weather!
What do we need to bring with us to an Essex Alfresco Cinema event?
As mentioned we always advise you to bring warm and water proof clothing. You will also need to bring your online ticket confirmation and present this at the front of house on arrival. You are welcome to bring food & drink with you to our events as we know how important this is for a good film watching experience. We will always have some amazing concessions in attendance providing some great food, drinks and yummy sweet treats for full indulgent.
Other items we recommend would be a blanket or chair so you can be comfortably seated.
Can Hen Parties or Stag Parties attend an event?
Yes. An outdoor film, food and fun is definitely something that we want Hen or Stag parties to experience and enjoy. We do want you to have an immense amount of fun but please also remember to respect fellow customers and neighbours. If you wish to attend an event as a Hen or Stag party please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org as we may be able to help make your night extra special.
Do an age restrictions apply as the films are open air?
Age restrictions still apply as per the film rating. Anyone trying to access a showing must be of the appropriate age or accompanied by a parent or guardian. Generally we do not show films with a higher age rating of 15 as we want to be as inviting as possible.
When can I arrive onsite and enter the cinemas?
We always open the site a minimum of one hour before the film starts. We like to do this to give you time to experience some of the concessions, have a nice bite to eat and start socialising with friends that might be in attendance. Where ever possible we will have some pre film entertainment to really get you in the mood for a fantastic night.
Can I bring my dog to the screening?
Unfortunately not. Even we do not bring our dog as we have to respect the decision and the fact that people in the audience may not feel comfortable in the company of dogs. If you wish to attend with your guide dog please let us know via the contact methods below.
Will there be toilet facilities at the event?
Yes, we will have portable toilets onsite for all our events. Our staff will checks toilets as much as possible and ensure they are in adequate condition for usage. If anyone has experienced portable toilets at Glastonbury on V Festival I am certain ours will be much better!
